It has been almost three years since the Harry Potter franchise officially came to an end when the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 came to theaters. The book version of Deathly Hallows was released in the summer of 2007.
The series hasn't come without its stories since ending though. J.K. Rowling, author of the popular series, revealed a shocking statement in an interview with actress Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger.
Watson interviewed Rowling for an upcoming issue of Wonderland magazine, and Rowling revealed that she regrets putting Hermione and Ron Weasley in a romance.
According to Jezebel, Rowling said that she "wrote the Ron/Hermione relationship as a wish fulfillment."
Rowling also hinted that Hermione may have been a better match for Harry, who ended up with Ron's sister Ginny. According to Popdust, Rowling said she "can hear the rage and fury it might cause fans" and that it was a choice she made "for very personal reasons."
