Jason Wahler, who is best known for being a reality star on the MTV reality show The Hills has opened up about his own struggles with addiction following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman.

According to People, Wahler wrote a personal essay for The Huffington Post in which he talks about his own obstacles with addiction. Wahler says he would throw parties at his house in Los Angeles with 50-100 people attending and acting out of control. While, everyone was enjoyed themselves, Whaler would go into the bathroom and snort coke and drink as much alcohol as he could. Whaler expresses how, "When I was done, I would grab a beer and get back into the party as if nothing happened." When the news came out that Hoffman had died from an apparent heroin drug overdose, Wahler saw a lot of negative comments from people online and said that people shouldn't be quick to judge others.

Us Weekly reports how Wahler has addressed his alcohol addiction problem publicly before and he even went on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew back in 2010. Wahler is disappointed by all the negativity surrounding Hoffman's death. According to him, "I truly believe that addiction is preventable, but I also know that it can get so complex that addicts won't go get help, but instead cry out for it."
