The day before her 45th birthday, Jennifer Aniston interviewed Gloria Steinem at the Makers Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif. In a wide ranging interview, the Horrible Bosses star brought up the public’s fascination with her love life and joked about not being married and being childless.
After touching on topics like body image and feeling misunderstood, Aniston brought up that both women never had kids. Aniston has been engaged to Justin Theroux for over a year but has famously never had children.
“The public has a great interest in our personal lives. I know you’ve come up against this, and I certainly have too -- where being a woman and our value and our worth is basically associated with our marital status or whether or not we have procreated,” she said, Huffington Post reports.
Steinem, who was married to American Hustle actor Christian Bale’s father , David Bale, for three years until he passed away in 2003, joked “Well, I guess we’re in deep sh-t.”
Aniston replied, “That’s what I thought. Just wanted to make sure that was the case. That we are, in fact, in deep sh-t.”
Us Weekly reports conference speakers also included Chelsea Handler, Sheryl Sandberg, Geena Davis, Martha Stewart, Gwen Ifill and Gabrielle Giffords.
