Jennifer Aniston has signed on to be a part of the upcoming indie drama film, Cake. The film is be directed by Daniel Barnz and is the first title of a five-film deal with After Dark Films and China-based Shenghua Entertainment.

The Hollywood Reporter added that the five year deal will be overseen by producer Courtney Solomon.

Solomon spoke about the deal and the films that are in the works surrounding it. "Our goal is to find great material and great talent and let them do what they do best and Shenghua has proven a great partner to make that happen," said Solomon.

Cake is based on a script that was originally written by Patrick Tobin, Variety reported.

The Break Up star will be playing the role of an acerbic woman who becomes enthralled by the suicide of another woman in her pain support group.

Aniston will be pulling double duty on the film, along with acting in the upcoming project she will be an executive producer on Cake. Shyam Madiraju and Mark Canton will also be executive producers on the film.
