As expected, Jennifer Lawrence will be a presenter at the 86th Academy Awards. The American Hustle star won an Oscar last year for Silver Linings Playbook and could win another.
Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced Friday that Lawrence will be one of the presenters. She is the first one to be announced.
As per Oscar tradition, the previous class of actor Oscar winners typically presents the new class with their Oscars. Lawrence will likely hand off the Best Actor award, which could go to her Hustle co-star Christian Bale. The other nominees in the category are Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club); Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave); Bruce Dern (Nebraska); and Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street).
The other members of the 2013 acting class were Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln); Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained); and Best Supporting Actress Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables).
In addition to Hustle, Lawrence also starred in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013. Next year, she’ll be seen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I and X-Men: Days of Future Past. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Hustle.
The Oscars are set for March 2 and will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. The ceremony will air on ABC.
