Jennifer Lopez's latest project a TV drama titled Shades of Blue has received a full series order from NBC. 13 episodes have been ordered.

Lopez will star in the show as Harlee McCord, a single mom and dirty cop recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption group, Billboard reported.

Adi Hasak who is known for his work on 3 Days to Kill is attached to write the show and will also be an executive producer. Lopez is staying connected to her American Idol family, Ryan Seacrest productions will also be working on the show, Entertainment Weekly added.

NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke spoke about having Lopez become a member of the NBC family. "Whether its producing, acting, singing or any of her other many entrepreneurial activities, Jennifer is an extraordinary talent and life force, and we’re delighted to be in business with her and Adi Hasak on this sophisticated show. We’re especially excited that Jennifer is returning to her acting roots from such great movies as 'Out of Sight' and we know that she will create this complicated character in a vivid way that will breathe new life into the cop show genre," said Salke.
