Jimmy Fallon has taken over late night TV with the Tonight Show and has already broken some records. His rating numbers on Tuesday drew in the largest audience for the Tonight Show since 2000.

7.37 million viewers tuned into the Tuesday night broadcast of the Tonight Show which resulted in a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49, Variety reported. This was the largest ratings on a Tuesday evening for the show since December 2000.

Even though these are large ratings it was a 35% decrease from the first night that Fallon took over the Tonight Show. If the ratings from CBS's Late Show With David Letterman and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! combined, the numbers would not out rank Fallon.

Kimmel recently saw a bump in ratings are premiering the latest Marvel's film full length trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Will Smith was featured as a guest and helped to explain the evolution of "hip hop" dancing with Fallon. The segment has become an Internet sensation, Time reported.

Also featured recently on the show was Lady Gaga, U2, Steven Colbert, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian.
