It turns out even super famous people still get nervous from time to time, especially if they’re speaking in front of the Commander in Chief.
Joel McHale dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and the conversation quickly turned to the White House Correspondent’s dinner in early May, which McHale will be hosting . Kimmel, who presided over the event in 2012, was quick to share his anxiety from his own experience.
“I had never been more nervous in my life,” said Kimmel. “I was in a hotel room and I started cleaning it like a lunatic. I got a huge coffee beforehand, that was a huge mistake, and I was already nervous beforehand. I turned into a member of the housekeeping staff.”
McHale reveled that he is planning on taking his parents to the event, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter , which segued into a story about the last time he took his parents to the event in 2008, and his Dad spent a little too much time looking at Pamela Anderson. “You’re in for a really weird night,” Kimmel responded.
This year’s White House Correspondent’s dinner will be held May 3 and broadcast on C-Span.
