Friends of Harold Ramis remember the film star, who passed away today at age 69.
The celebrity was known for his work on Ghostbusters. He also directed Caddyshack and Groundhog Day.
Collaborators took a moment to remember the celebrity on Twitter. According to E!, Jon Favreau said “Worked for him ten years ago. He was the real deal. Growing up, his work changed my life. He will be missed.”
Steve Carell said he was “funny, gracious, and kind hearted.”
Celebrity Rainn Wilson said that she “was honored to have gotten to work with Harold Ramis, the Buddha of Comedy. Brilliant, humble, radiant. We’ve lost an icon.”
Andie McDowell told Entertainment Weekly in a statement, “I was fortunate to be able to do two movies with Harold Ramis. He was the kindest of any director with whom I worked. Harold was a genius. On top of his talent, he could do the New York Times crossword puzzle faster than anyone!! I am lucky to have known him as well as I did. I will miss him.”
Ramis died from a blood vessel disease called autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. He is survived by his two grandchildren, his wife, daughter Violet Stiel and his sons Julian and Daniel Ramis.
