Jon Heder is still in search for the big role that will help him be known for more than just Napoleon Dynamite. The actor is now going to television to star in an untitled Fox comedy pilot, written by Ricky Blitt.
While the project doesn’t have a name, Heder’s character does. According to TheWrap, Heder will play Richard, a man in his 30s still living with his mother. His life suddenly changes when his mother falls in love and gets married to a single father with three teenage daughters.
According to Deadline, the mother will be played by Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle).
The multi-cam comedy will be produced by Warner Bros. TV and was once known as Here’s Your Damn Family. Blitt (Family Guy, Romantically Challenged) wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Johnny Galecki and Stephen McPherson.
Heder remains best known for the 2004 indie hit Napoleon Dynamite and also appeared in Will Ferrell’s Blades of Glory in 2007. He’s also appeared in When In Rome and has tried to strike it big on TV and even returned to Napoleon in 2012 for an animated series.
