Freeheld, the 2008 Academy Award winning short documentary, is getting a Hollywood makeover, with Julianne Moore and Zach Galifianakis joining Ellen Page in the new indie drama of the same name.

The Hollywood Reporter had the exclusive on the addition of the two actors, with Julianne Moore set to star as Laurel Hester, a New Jersey police detective who became terminally ill, and government officials prevented her from assigning her pension benefits to her domestic partner, Stacie Andree, played by Page. Galifianakis is set to play Garden State Equality activist Steven Goldstein.

The Wrap noted Peter Sollett will direct from a screenplay by Philadelphia Oscar nominated screenwriter Ron Nyswaner.

The two stars have also been busy with other projects with Moore who next stars opposite Liam Neeson in Universal’s Non-Stop, and is currently filming her role as President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. Galifianakis will be hitting the big screen in the comedy Birdman and Muppets Most Wanted.

Freeheld is set to start production this summer.
