Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting may have gotten married extremely quickly, but she wants to make sure people know it isn’t as bad as it seems. The two married on New Years Eve after dating for only three months. The Big Bang Theory actress and tennis pro knew it was true love from the very beginning, and they couldn’t be happier together.
Last night on the Late Show With David Letterman, Cuoco opened up about her marriage. She said the two met on a blind date and after realizing how much they hit it off, “We texted a little bit, dinner was great, and then he moved in the next day.” Cuoco knows how that must sound to people but she doesn’t care. “It sound so slutty,” she said. “But it wasn’t.”
The two posted pictures to their Instagram accounts from back stage at the show last night. Sweeting posted one mirror shot of Cuoco surrounded by her glam team getting her makeup done with the caption, “Tune into letterman tonight at 11:30 on cbs to watch @normancook dominate.” He then posted another of Cuoco smiling in the chair talking to Letterman with the caption, “My lovely wife @normancook made Dave blush on @davidletterman tonight. Check it out on CBS.” Cuoco posted a picture of herself after the show, looking stunning in all white, thanking Letterman. “Thanks to Letterman for having me on the show again! Feels like family every time! :)”
She admitted to Letterman that they knew how fast things were moving on paper, especially when they got engaged just three months after dating. The two then married on New Years Eve shortly after the engagement, but it wasn’t even really planned. “I’m totally married!” she told him. “I know you’re all thinking, ‘She’s nuts!’ I swear I’m not nuts! We were throwing a New Year’s Eve party anyway and I was like, ‘Let’s throw a ceremony in the party and not tell anybody.”
The two haven’t left each others sides since they first met on that blind date and really believe this is their happily ever after. Their Instagrams and Twitters are filled with pictures of the two enjoying their time together, and even a ton from the wedding. Cuoco wore a beautiful pink Vera Wang gown and couldn’t stop smiling.
They tried to keep their wedding a secret but Cuoco had a hard time keeping her mouth shit. She revealed that she’d be getting her nails done or telling gas attendants all about getting married in a few months, but to not tell anyone because they were the only ones who knew. Apparently, she told too many people this because she said, “Then there would be all these articles and my husband would be like, ‘How does everyone know we’re getting married?!’ I’d say, ‘I don’t know, these people find out anything they want to find out!’”
They have not gone on a “big” honeymoon yet, but Cuoco told Letterman all about their mini honeymoon at Disneyland. “He had never been before, and it’s like my favorite place in the world.” The two wore Mickey ears and Disney pins that said “Just Married” and although trying to keep a low profile, people were constantly waving and telling them congratulations.
Honeymoon plans are on hold as the two will be moving into a new house in a few weeks. TMZ reported in January that the couple bough Khloe and Lamar’s house when they put it up for sale after the divorce. They bought the house for $5.49 million, which was almost $1.5 million more than the asking price.
They’re really looking forward to moving in! “A peacock came with the house!” Cuoco explained. “He’s officially joined the family.”
