Katy Perry has been crowned the most followed person on Twitter history, after amassing more than 50 million followers. The singer is the most popular person on social media at least according to 50 million Twitter users.
The Hollywood Reporter reports how on Saturday, Feb.1, Perry became the queen of social media by doing the unthinkable and attracting a following of 50 million people. According to E! News last November, Perry beat out Justin Bieber as the most followed person on Twitter, during that time Perry had 46.48 million followers barely edging out Bieber's 46.47 million followers.
CNN discloses how Perry made light of the accomplishment. Perry tweeted, "Oh yeah AND we grew to 50 million Katycats! Eh, regular day at the office,". Alongside, Perry and Bieber, Lady GaGa, President Barack Obama,Youtube, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Instagram, and Justin Timberlake finish out the list of the top 10 most followed Twitter accounts. Looks as though Perry is in some good company and as well she should be since she is the leader of the pack!
