Katy Perry has sparked engagement rumors by wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger. She stepped out with the ring for a Valentine’s Day date with boyfriend John Mayer on Friday in Los Angeles.
Perry and Mayer were photographed walking into Sunset Towers in L.A. and after dinner, sat in a private booth in Bootsy Bellows club in West Hollywood.
Despite rumors of an engagement, a source told E! News did not propose just yet.
"They are really happy. They had the most amazing date night. They had a private booth at Bootsy Bellows and were very happy just to be together," said an insider.
"They were taking pics of one another and are head over heels. After a while, they had some friends join them and they spent the rest of the night dancing. They left as the club was closing,” the source added.
On Valentine’s Day, Mayer tweeted a different version of Jay Z’s “Public Service Announcement,” writing, “I got the hottest girl in the game Pick in' my brain.”

USA Today notes this isn’t the first time Perry has sparked engagement rumors by wearing a ring on that finger. Maybe she’s just having a little fun with the media.
