Authorities have said that New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to ESPN, the 29-year-old has been charged with second and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, as well as fourth-degree possession of a firearm.

Sources have told the New York Daily News that his arrest came after his estranged wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, went to the cops with his gun.

Raymondo-Felton filed for divorce from the NBA veteran after a brief marriage.

The NYPD noted that Felton turned himself in after the Knicks loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He was questioned and later booked on the charges.

Felton’s future is now up in the air because police said he was not registered to have a weapon and New York City has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, which carry strict penalties.

The Knicks signed the guard to a contract in 2012 after Harvard grad Jeremy Lin was dealt to the Houston Rockets.
