Kristen Stewart hasn’t stopped her career after Twilight ended and is not stopping her life just because she’s no longer dating Robert Pattinson. The actress, whose latest film earned praise at the Sundance Film Festival, said in a new interview that she’s always looking forward and doesn’t dwell on anything, including her mistakes.

Stewart, 23, told Marie Claire that she believes that things just happen. You don’t know what projects are going to be hits and you don’t know who you’ll fall in love with.

"Dude, I have no idea what I'm doing, and that's kind of how I love it," Stewart said. "I had no idea Twilight was going to be huge. Certain movies I've done I thought were going to be amazing did nothing. So it's fun not having so much control.”

As E! News notes, Stewart said that in 2013, the year she split from Pattinson for good, she reconnected with friends, wrote poetry and went on road trips with friends.

“You don't know who you will fall in love with,” Stewart said. “You just don't. You don't control it. Some people have certain things, like, 'That's what I'm going for,' and I have a subjective version of that. I don't pressure myself.”

Stewart also admitted that she understands that she doesn’t do too well with interviews and being under the spotlight. “People are like, 'She just can't handle' – for lack of a better word – 'the spotlight.' No, actually, I can't, and this is totally who I am,” she said.

She admitted that she likes being an actor, but “I'm the last person to want to have a birthday party.”

As for her affair with director Rupert Sanders that ultimately lead to her breakup with Pattinson, she didn’t mention it directly. “I stand by every mistake I've ever made, so judge away,” she said.

Stewart recently appeared in the Sundance film Camp X-Ray, which earned mixed responses but Stewart did receive some praise for her role.
