Lena Dunham is proud of her Girls on-screen boyfriend, Adam Driver, being in the discussion for a Star Wars: Episode VII role. However, the writer/actress stressed that she can’t really confirm anything and revealed that she hasn’t seen Star Wars.
Driver was linked to Episode VII again on Wednesday afternoon after Variety and other sites reported that he was very close to signing a deal with Disney and Lucasfilm. The role would be an undisclosed villain part.
While Driver and the movie studio have not said anything, the Twitter-loving Dunham did. “We're VERY proud of Adam Driver re: Star Wars,” she wrote. “He's about to rip a hole in da force. Is that a thing? I guess I should see those movies?”

However, she later said that she cannot confirm any reports since she was on a plane with her dad, artist Carroll Dunham. “I just like Adam more than almost anyone, and JJ Abrams a whole lot too,” she wrote.
Variety reported that Disney will likely announce casting next month, as production is slated to start in the U.K. in April.
Driver’s other credits include Lincoln and Inside Llewyn Davis. He plays Hannah’s boyfriend on Girls. Coincidentally, the most recent episode showed Adam getting a boost in his acting career with a role on Broadway.
Star Wars: Episode VII opens on Dec. 18, 2015 and will be directed by J.J. Abrams.
