The Girls creator and star showed off her new book on Instagram Monday.

Lena Dunham posted a picture of Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned" as well as a photo of herself cradling the book in her arms.

The image was only accompanied by the simple statement "It's official. Coming 10/7/14."

The cover, designed by Teddy Blanks, has drawn comparisons to books of the 1960's, namely Valley of the Dolls.

In her synopsis of the book for publisher Random House, Dunham says “If I can take what I’ve learned in this life and make one treacherous relationship or degrading job easier for you, perhaps even prevent you from becoming temporarily vegan, then every misstep of mine will have been worthwhile."
Stars like Kerry Washington and Mike Birbiglia quickly tweeted their support. Washington requested a signed copy and Birbiglia asked if it was an e-book, referencing the work of Dunham’s Girls character Hannah Horvath. The Iron Sheik added "you the real book you read to me i be happy i love you forever."
