Every year, hundreds gather in New York’s Central Park for the famous Shakespeare in the Park put on by The Public Theatre. This year the celebrity line up for the production Much Ado About Nothing is stellar and the performances should be out of this world.
Playbill announced that the cast for the famous Shakespearian play, Much Ado About Nothing includes Lily Rabe, who is famous for her numerous roles in Fox’s hit series American Horror Story and Hamish Linklater who has appeared in other famous Shakespeare plays such as Twelfth Night.
Not only will these stars be performing at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park, but Tony-award winner, John Lithgow will be playing King Lear. Pantagraph has reported that Tony-award winning director, Daniel Sullivan. Lithgow last appeared at Shakespeare in the Park in 1975, when he played Laertes in Hamlet.
Rabe and Linklater will perform Much Ado About Nothing June 3-July 6 and Lithgow will perform King Lear July 22-Aug.17 all at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park.
