His teammates may be different but his skill is all the same. Henrik Lundqvist managed a 26 save shutout for Sweden, on Friday’s Olympic game against Switzerland.
Sweden beat Switzerland 1-0 after hearing the news that Zetterberg will be out for the rest of the Olympics due to a herniated disk, according to News Observer
Assisting Henrik's talent in goal, Daniel Alfredsson scored the winning goal off of a rebound with 7:21 left in the game.
The Swiss outplayed the Swedes in the first period with 13-5 shots on goal but came out empty handed. Sweden moved up in the rankings and clinched a spot in the quarterfinals and currently hold the title of being the only undefeated team in Group C, according to ESPN.go
Sweden was considered medal favorites, but since three of their best forwards, Zetterberg, Sedin and Franzen are out due to of injuries, it’s all subject to change.
With Lundqvist on their side, though, there is still hope. The three time Olympian knows what it takes to win and still has the chance to lead his team to glory. Alfredsson on the ice with Sweden helps as well, considering he’s a five time Olympian.
Sweden will continue to the quarterfinals with two extremely experienced Olympians to lead their team.
