Mary Grace Canfield died of lung cancer on Feb. 15 in Santa Barbara, California. She was 89 years old.

Canfield was in several television shows, but is most known for her work in the hit series, Green Acres. She was in the show from 1965 to 1971, and took place in the fictitious land of Hootersville. The show was a stunning success and featured Eva Gabor. Canfield was on 41 episodes of the show. She played the handywoman, Ralph Monroe, the repair person who greeted folks with the phrase “Howdy doody.”

Her other work on the small screen includes roles on The Love Boat, Half a House, Cagney and Lacey, Hazel, The Hathaways, and General Hospital. Canfield had also appeared in films on Polyanna, The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, Half a House, and Something Wicked This Way Comes, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Canfield was originally from Rochester, NY. She was married twice to Charles Cary and then to John Bischof, according to Hollywood Life. She is survived by her daughter, Phoebe Alexiades and Alison Carey.
