Mel Brooks will honor his friend and fellow comedy legend Sid Caesar on Conan Tuesday.
Caesar passed away on Wednesday, February 12 at 91 years of age.
According to The Wrap, the majority of Tuesday's show will be dedicated to the memory of the Your Show of Shows and Caesar's Hour star. Aside from musician Langhorne Slim, Brooks will be the only guest.
Brooks broke into comedy as a writer on Your Show of Shows. Caesar later appeared in Brooks movies Silent Movie and History of the World: Part I.
The Conan schedule says that Brooks will remember "the godfather of sketch comedy, including how Sid once dangled Mel out of a hotel room."
On Thursday Conan O'Brien tweeted a Your Show of Shows sketch starring Caesar along with Carl Reiner and Howard Morris. The Conan host said it inspired him to "make people laugh".
In an interview with Larry King earlier this week O'Brien called Caesar "the nuclear explosion of sketch comedy" and King recalled a radio appearance when Caesar emphasized living in the now.
