The United States and Canada both conclusively know what time and whom they’re playing in the quarterfinals of the 2014 men’s Olympic hockey tournament in Sochi.
Canada, the defending gold medalists, will challenge Latvia in their first Olympic game against one another since 1963 as reported in NESN If the last game of 11-0 in Canada’s favor has any indication of how the game will go, Latvia should be worried.
Latvia took a 3-1 win over Switzerland on Tuesday during the qualification round.
Team USA will go head to head with Plekanec and the Czech Republic, who conquered Slovakia in an exciting 5-3 meeting on Tuesday. The winner of each quarterfinal will play in one of the semi finals on Thursday.
The Czech-US game will be at noon ET and will be televised live on the USA network, according to The Boston Globe
All quarterfinal games are on Wednesday. Sweden vs. Slovakia will be at 3 a.m., Finland vs. Russia will be at 7:30 a.m. while both Canada and USA play against Latvia and the Czech Republic will begin at noon.
