Mia Farrow recently released a statement defending her daughter, Dylan Farrow, and expressing her support for the daughter who claims Woody Allen violated her as a child.
Since Dylan Farrow’s open letter to The New York Times which she describes in full detail what her adoptive father did to her when she was seven, Allen claims he did nothing wrong.
His lawyer told CNN that Dylan’s words were allegations based on a “vengeful lover” and accused Farrow of jealousy specifically toward his marriage to formerly adoptive daughter, Soon Yi.
On Feb. 4, Farrow took to Twitter in order to back up the 28-year-old and herself by saying, “I love my daughter. I will always protect her. A lot of ugliness is going to be aimed at me. But this is not about me, it’s about her truth.”
Ronan Farrow, the son of Allen and Farrow, also took to the social media site to show his support by saying, “I love and support my sister and I think her words speak for themselves.”
Allen was never charged with the crime back in 1992, however, speculations from old archived interviews with the director are surfacing and are not making him look any better.
People Magazine profiled Allen in 1976 and he said some disturbing words.
“I try to have sex only with women I like a lot. Otherwise I find it fairly mechanical,” he said.
“I’m open-minded about sex. I’m not above reproach; if anything, I’m below reproach. I mean, if I was caught in a love nest with 15 12-year-old girls tomorrow, people would think, yeah, I always knew that about him,” Allen continued. ““Nothing I could come up with would surprise anyone. I admit to it all.”
In the interview, he also states that he has a very different view of family life. “It’s no accomplishment to have or raise kids. Any fool can do it,” he claims.
