Former NFL star Michael Strahan was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
The ‘Live!’ co-host was one of seven players to be selected. When he was playing defensive for the New York Giants, he won the Super Bowl during his 2007 season on the field, which ended up being his last.
According to Fox Sports, the selection process for players is a continuous voting session which makes the group of potential Hall of Famers smaller and smaller until a final decision is made. This year, the vote lasted just under 9 hours.
Strahan was first picked by the Giants during the second-round pick in Texas back in 1993. He continued to be a star player for them for 15 seasons.
Strahan was up for the Hall of Fame last year but in the end did not make the cut, NFL.com reports.
Following Strahan to the Hall of Fame are Andre Reed, Walter Jones, Claude Humphrey, Ray Guy, Aneas Williams and Derrick Brooks.
