The Discovery Channel will broadcast a wingsuit flight from the top of Mount Everest.

Joby Ogwyn, known for his expertise in mountain climbing, will perform the feat. Ogwyn is from Santa Barbara, California. He has previously climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. The height of the mountain, as well as the pace are important. In the broadcast from Mount Everest, Ogwyn will battle adverse weather and difficult terrain before jumping from Everest. According to the Associated Press, Ogwyn will be equipped with cameras to capture the descent of more than 10,000 vertical feet at speeds exceeding 150 mph.

Discovery will show two pre-show episodes about Ogwyn’s rigorous training, and then a broadcast of the actual jump. The live broadcast the day will be two hours long. Discovery and TLC Networks boss Eileen O'Neill called Ogwyn's planned feat "history in the making.” The broadcast will be live in over 200 countries.

According to Deadlline, Discovery has shown similar daredevil specials. In July, Discovery viewers watched Nik Wallenda walk across a high wire in Colorado.
