MTV has ordered the drama series Eye Candy starring Nickelodeon alum Victoria Justice as a murder and crime solving tech genius.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, MTV ordered 10 episodes from the series which depicts Lindy, Justice’s character, having recently joined an online dating service, soon suspects a suitor may be an cyber stalker. Lindy, along with fellow hackers, try to solve the mystery of the stalkers identity.
Variety also reported some changes are due for the series as well. While the pilot was the basis for MTV’s decision, the network has no plans to actually show the pilot, and will be recasting the series. Justice and Harvey Guillen, who plays friend Juan, will be staying with the show. The untelevised pilot was also directed by Catherine Hardwick, who will stay on as an executive producer.
Eye Candy is just one of the many scripted series the once all-music network has, including Awkward, Teen Wolf, and comedies Happyland and Faking It.
Although set for episodes, Eye Candy has no official air date considering the recasting.
