In 2012, Actor of Valor was released and featured real life Navy Seal's on the big screen, the film was well received by audiences and critics. In October, the National Geographic Network announced that they would be moving forward with a TV series based off the film, but now only a few months later the network has backed out of the production.
In a statement released by National Geographic the network said that they will be focusing on new projects and other scripts that need to be put into development soon, Deadline reported.
The network had formed a deal with Relativity and Studiocana's Tandem Communications, which was to act as the studio that would handle distribution internationally, a press release from the network detailed.
Now that partnership will not be moving forward. The creative team behind the feature film had been working on the upcoming television project but no formal deal had been put in place.
National Geographic has been transiting into scripted television programs which included a very popular series, SEAL Team Six.
