NBC's science fiction series Heroes is getting a reboot.

The Wrap reports that NBC is creating a reboot of their hit series Heroes in the form of a miniseries.

Heroes creator and executive producer, Tim King, will be back to create the new series which will be titled Heroes Reborn. It will consist of 13 episodes and will air in 2015.

NBC's Entertainment President, Jennifer Salke, spoke about her excitement towards the new series, not ruling out the possibility of original cast members making an appearance.

"We look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept," Salke said. "The show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won't rule out the possibility of some of the show's original cast members popping back in."

E! News reports that Heroes, which was cancelled in 2010 after four seasons, will have a web series with new characters and story lines that will be available before the 2015 reboot.

FOX is also planning on bringing back Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer in a 24: Live Another Day 13 episode miniseries.
