Starting Saturday, March 1st, Pokémon fans will be able to watch the animated series on Netflix.
This will include episodes old and new and not much in between of the long running series. According to Variety the first and fourteenth seasons will be available for streaming.
The first season, Pokémon: Indigo League which first aired in 1998, will most likely appeal to nostalgic teens and twenty-something viewers. Younger viewers will be more drawn to the recent "Pokémon: Black and White" from 2011. The deal also includes two movies that tie in with the fourteenth season; Pokémon the Movie: Black – Victini and Reshiram and Pokémon the Movie: White – Victini and Zekrom. Black and White has 48 episodes while Indigo League comes in at a whopping 81 episodes.
Hulu recently made a similar deal. Netflix's main online competitor is currently streaming the 10th season and will do the same for 11 through 13 in the near future. Hulu also has three Pokémon movies and the four-part special "Pokemon Origins".
According to Gamespot Indigo League will only be available in the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland, while everything else will be accessible worldwide.
