It’s official! Netflix has released the season premiere date for its hit drama Orange Is the New Black, which will premiere its second season on June 6th 2014. The show originally premiered via Netflix on July 11th, 2013, with a 13 episode season. For those who have not jumped on the bandwagon yet, the show’s first season is currently available on Netflix.
The LA Times reports that the show is loosely based on the memoir by Piper Kerman about her yearlong stint in a federal prison. The stars of the show include Taylor Schilling, who won a Golden Globe for her role as Piper, Jason Biggs, and Laura Prepon.
E! News reports that the announcement came right on the heels of the season finale of House of Cards; Netflix’s other highly successful show. The announcement came via a well place ad at the end of the House Of Cards season finale. Check out the teaser trailer below and get ready to be blown away!
