Noah Emmerich took a moment to reflect on his television show, The Americans, before the second season begins on Wednesday.

In The Americans two Soviet intelligence agents pose as a married couple to spy on the government in America. Emmerich’s co-stars include Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys. Russell and Rhys play spy couple, Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings on the show. Emmerich playing Stan Beeman, an FBI agent who spends his time chasing Communists.

According to the Associated Press, Emmerich said, "Is he naive? Or is he (messing) with them? There have been times when I interpreted things in a certain way and played it that way, then mentioned it in passing to a writer, only to find out we had different opinions of what Stan does and doesn't know."

Emmerich won a Critics Choice Award for his work on The Americans. Emmerich has previously appeared in the films, Beautiful Girls, Little Children, Super 8, Cop Land and the landmark, The Truman Show.

The Americans will premiere on Feb. 26 on FX, according to The Huffington Post.
