Oprah Winfrey to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela at the 45th Annual NAACP Image Awards.

The Associated Press reports that Winfrey will pay tribute to the late Nelson Mandela during the ceremony on Saturday night, taking place in Pasadena.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's ceremony is to honor diversity in the arts.

Other stars who are set to appear include Kerry Washington, Vin Dissel, Terrence Howard, Lupita Nyong'o, and more. Stevie Wonder is scheduled to perform.

The New York Daily News reports that the NAACP Image Awards will finally get a time slot on national television.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on TV One at 8 p.m. with a red carpet event at 7.

The awards consist of 54 categories in movies, television, and music. Some nominees include Aisha Tyler for Archer, Mindy Kaling for The Mindy Project, Niecy Nash for The Soul Man, Andre Braugher for Brooklyn Nine Nine, and Don Cheadle for House of Lies.

This year's ceremony will also take place during a few civil rights anniversaries including the 100th anniversary of Marcus Garvey founding the Universal Negro Improvement Association, the 50th anniversary of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act, and the 60th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education.
