On the day of the trade deadline, the Philadelphia 76ers agreed to trade Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen to the Indiana Pacers for Danny Granger.
The 76ers also will receive a second-round pick for next year's draft, reports USA Today. The 76ers parting ways with Turner isn't surprising as it was well-known they were shopping him ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.
According to Yahoo Sports, who first reported on the trade, the deal also helps the Pacers since Granger hasn't helped the team much since struggling with injuries this season and last. It give the Pacers a chance to get something for him as the 30-year-old was set to be a free agent at the end of this season.
Granger has been averaging 8.3 points per game from the bench as he gets into shape and his shooting percentage has been low.
In trading away Granger, the Pacers get a young player, only 25 years old, who was averaging 17.4 points, 3.7 assists and six rebounds a game while playing with the 76ers. Turner is a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
