Philip Seymour Hoffman left most of his estate to his longtime girlfriend, Mimi O’Donnell, and their three children. He also had specific requests on where he wanted O’Donnell to raise them.
In a will created back in 2004, Hoffman said of his now 10-year-old son Cooper that he wanted him to be raised in New York, San Francisco or Chicago.
“The purpose of this request is so that my son will be exposed to the culture, art and architecture that such cities offer,” the will stated, Daily News reports.
Hoffman and O’Donnell share Cooper, 10, Tallulah , 7, and Willa, 5, but the Oscar-winning actor created the will when Cooper was just 1. He set up a trust for his only son at the time, which he will inherit when he turns 30.
The AP notes the Capote actor named O’Donnell the sole beneficiary of his estate.
Hoffman died on Feb. 2 of an apparent heroin overdose. He became estranged from O’Donnell when he relapsed after over 20 years of living a sober life.
