Soon-to-be-former CNN host Piers Morgan lashed out at the New York Daily News, which claimed in a report today that he abused members of his Piers Morgan Tonight staff.

The report claimed that his staffers are actually happy that the show has been axed by CNN. An ‘insider’ told the paper that he was “always such an a------ to people” he worked with. The source claims that Morgan particularly had something against his makeup girls and was “rude and belligerent” to them.

“The general feeling is Morgan didn’t show any respect to anyone working under him — the people who were trying to make him look good,” the source was quoted as saying.

This ‘insider’ is the only person quoted in the report.

According to E! News, Morgan took to Twitter to dispute these claims. The active Twitter user wrote, “Hi @NYDailyNews - found any CNN make-up artists I was ever rude to yet? Or you going to admit you just invented that garbage?”

In another tweet, Morgan said that he has no issue with the show ending, “but abusing make-up artists? NEVER. Just pisses me off to read that.”

The Daily News later tweeted a quote from the story and then “#ff @piersmorgan,” which Morgan was also annoyed with.

“So @NYDailyNews response is to tweet a link to their lie? Halfwits,” Morgan wrote. “And their Brit editor Colin Myler worked with me at the Mirror, too!”

Morgan confirmed that he is leaving CNN this weekend during a New York Times interview. The network also confirmed the news, but has not said when the show will end specifically.
