The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Tuesday that actor and director, Rob Reiner, will receive the Chaplin award at a gala on April 28.
According to the Associated Press, Film Society Board Chairman Ann Tenenbaum called the 66-year-old Reiner a "master multi-hyphenate" who has made "some the most enduring and entertaining films in recent history."
According to Reuters, Rob Reiner was most recently seen as Jordan Belfort’s father in the film, The Wolf of Wall Street. It is his first acting role in ten years. Reiner has been a producer, director, and actor. He won several Emmys for his standout performances as Michael “Meathead” Stivic in the sit-com All in the Family. He has Golden Globe nominations for Director for This is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, A Few Good Men. When Harry Met Sally…, and The American President. He was nominated as a producer for A Few Good Men.
The Chaplin Award has also gone to Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock, Tom Hanks, and Barbra Streisand.
