UFC star Ronda Rousey is about to branch over into Hollywood stardom: Rousey has just landed roles in Athena Project and the Entourage movie.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is currently in the final stages of acquiring the rights to author Brad Thor’s Athena Project, which Rousey is set to star in. The report said that Rousey became involved with the project before the studio became involved due to her love of the book. Rousey’s role in the Entourage movie is currently unknown.
This is not Rousey’s first foray into film. She has finished filming scenes for the upcoming films The Expendables 3 and Fast and Furious 7, Pro MMA Now reported.
Rousey is currently the champion of the UFC Women’s bantamweight division. As reported by 5thRound, Rousey defended her title against Miesha Tate at UFC 168 last December. She will defend her title in February against Sara McMann in Las Vegas. At the moment, Rousey is in training camp preparing for the fight.
