Saving Quinton is the latest from the New York Times and USA Today best selling young adult and new adult fiction author, Jessica Sorensen.

Saving Quinton is the continuation of Breaking Nova that focuses on the beautifully broken character Quinton Carter. A year has passed since Nova Reed and Quinton have seen one another. Nova has finally reached a level of comfortable happiness but can’t seem to forget her connection with Quinton. The falling out between Quinton and Nova made her realize the reason why she fell into drugs and needed to break away from the depression that consumed her life. As Nova has spiritually and emotionally healed from the chaotic turmoil she begins to wonder what happened to the Quinton.

Nova develops a savior complex as she plans to find Quinton and save him before it is too late. Quinton, who is now living in Las Vegas, with his cousin Tristan, Dylan and Delilah, have all spiraled into the deep end with their addiction to harder drugs and violence. There isn’t a day that goes by where Quinton doesn’t think of Nova. Despite his attraction for Nova his desire and need for an escape that he finds within drugs is stronger. Quinton believes that he deserves to be unhappy and live his life on the edge because of the mistakes of his past.

Nova finds her way to Quinton and serves as a light to his dark world. Quinton constantly fights Nova’s effort in helping him. The chemistry between the characters is evident but Quinton’s addiction is out of control where Nova is left with having no other choice but to leave him again. Saving Quinton is written in dual point of view and truly captures the raw, edgy, and dark world of drug addiction. With the vivid details and amount of imagery it made it almost painful and uncomfortable to read. Sorensen’s talent is evident throughout the novel as you feel as if you are in the dirty apartment breathing in the dirt, musk, and drugs.

In true Sorensen fashion we are left wanting more and feeling incomplete. With the emotionally charged reunion between Nova and Quinton there is question of whether or not there is a future for the lost couple. Their story continues with Nova and Quinton: No Regrets that is set to be released April 15, 2014.
