Netflix has officially announced that the second season Orange Is The New Black will premiere on June 6. This announcement came to the surprise of fans, featured at the end of a House Of Cards marathon.

The popular series follows protagonist Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling, as she experiences life within a women’s prison. The first season ended with a cliff hanger involving her and Taryn Manning’s character, Pennsatucky, which left viewers wondering “What will happen next?”

According to Hitfix, Orange Is The New Black came in second place on Hitfix’s Annual TV Critic’s Poll for 2013, after Breaking Bad.

Viewers will be happy to hear that Laura Prepon’s character, Alex, will indeed be back for “most” of the episodes in the new season. Other favorites such as Taystee and Crazy Eyes will be also be back as season regulars.

“We're having a blast! I mean, the writing was amazing before and it has gotten even better, I don't know how they made it happen but it's really good. I think that people are going to be so excited about season two,” Danielle Brooks, who plays inmate Taystee, told E!News.
