Late Night continues to pull in fairly strong numbers for Seth Meyers first week on the job. The show managed to tie the late-night talk show's highest Wednesday night ratings in five years.

The third night brought in 2.7 million viewers, reports TheWrap. That number ties with the final Wednesday night episode with Jimmy Fallon as host.

The last Wednesday night to do better for Late Night was Jan. 2, 2008, which did a slightly higher 2.9 million viewers. Meyers' most recent episode also averaged a 0.9 in the key 18-49 demographic.

The talk show, however, did lose out to two other programs in the same timeslot, but only barely. Nightline on ABC and competitor the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS both drew 2.8 million.

Meyers' numbers from Wednesday aren't too steep of a drop from its premiere numbers from Monday. For the former Saturday Night Live head writer, his first episode averaged 3.4 million viewers and a 1.4 in the demo.
