Seth Rogen went before a Senate committee on Wednesday and called for an increase in funding for Alzheimer's research and opened up about his own mother-in-law.
Rogen related his own personal tale about how his mother-in-law came to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's and her eventual slide as she struggled with the disease, reports ABC News.
In his speech, he spoke about how it was clear when he met her while still dating his future wife, Lauren Miller, he felt that her mother seemed off and they later learned she had Alzheimer's. The 31-year-old actor threw in a couple jokes, referencing House of Cards at one point, here and there, but focused on the serious side of how his mother-in-law eventually lost the ability to speak or even dress herself.
"After forgetting who she and her loved ones were," Rogen said. "She forgot how to speak, feed herself, dress herself, all by the age of 60."
According to The Guardian, Rogen was not the only actor to make a visit to Capitol Hill on Wednesday. Ben Affleck also was there, but for a different meeting, he was there to discuss the Democratic Republic of Congo.
While there, Affleck stopped by to say hello to Secretary of State John Kerry before heading off to testify before the committee.
