Taylor Swift is on the cover of Glamour magazine this month, wearing a lace red dress and smirking right at the viewer. She talked about dating, why she doesn’t take her clothes off and when she avoids stories about herself.
In the interview, Swift said that she doesn’t consider taking her clothes off ‘risky’ enough for her. What she finds risky is using music to talk about her private life and putting herself out there that way.
“For me ‘risky’ is revealing what really happened in my life through music,” she told the magazine, reports The Daily Mail. “Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is. That's putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off.”
The “22” singer also knows when she needs to stay away from media reports on her life. If the reports aren’t going to make her feel better, she avoids them. “I’m careful about getting sucked into the rabbit hole that is the Internet because, as a songwriter, I don’t have the option of having thick skin,” she said, notes JustJared. “As a writer you have to be open to everything, and that includes pain, rejection, self-doubt, fear. I deal with that enough on my own.”
As for dating advice, it’s something Swift is always ready to give out. She explained how she freezes-out boyfriends. “You don’t respond to any of his texts or calls until he does something desperate [like] shows up. Or he calls and leaves a voice mail. Something that makes it very clear to you that he’s interested,” she said.
It’s also good to avoid yelling during an argument. “Silence speaks so much louder than screaming tantrums,” she said. “Never give anyone an excuse to say that you’re crazy.”
