The CW has just released the first image of Glee actor Grant Gustin in the Flash uniform he will be wearing in the network’s Flash pilot. Gustin has previously played Barry Allen, who becomes the Flash, on Arrow.
Gustin posted a profile shot of himself in the costume on Instagram. “How about this for Flash Friday?” he wrote for the caption. He also used his Twitter page to tease fans. The network gave the image its stamp of approval by posting it on the Arrow and The Flash pages.
The Glee actor was cast as Barry Allen in September and will play the character again in The CW’s Flash series. The original plan was to air a backdoor pilot for the series as part of Arrow’s current season, but The CW decided against that. Instead, The Flash will get its own pilot.
In addition to Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Parker, Carlos Valdes and TV’s original Flash, John Wesley Shipp, will star in the series. The executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter. Geoff Johns co-wrote the pilot.
According to Variety, the costume was designed by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood.
