The CW’s Flash pilot added two actors to its cast on Tuesday. Candice Patton and Broadway actor Carlos Valdes have joined the latest project based on a DC Comics property.
Patton was cast as Iris West, reports Deadline. The character is the daughter of Detective West, a surrogate father for Barry Allen. West is played by Law & Order veteran Jesse L. Martin and Allen - also known as The Flash - is being played by Grant Gustin.
Patton recently appeared on The Game, Rizzoli & Isles and CSI: Miami.
TheWrap reports that Valdes will play Cisco Ramon, a possible series regular role. He’s a young genius scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs. Valdes recently appeared on Broadway in Once, playing Andrej.
Flash is based on the DC character with super speed. The character was originally going to be introduced in Arrow with a backdoor pilot, but it has since been decided to give the show its own pilot. The cast also includes Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker.
Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter are executive producing. The pilot was penned by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Geoff Johns. It is a Warner Bros. TV production.
