The Closing Ceremony of the Sochi Olympics failed to largely interest people and numbers once again dropped in comparison with the 2010 Games in Vancouver and now AMC beat out NBC once again in the key 18-49 demographic.

In the Fast Nationals return of the ratings, the Winter Olympics only averaged a 3.3 in the advertiser important demo, which is a 40 percent drop from the Vancouver Closing Ceremony.

Though that number was good enough to top the other major networks, who also didn't really plan much in the way of new episodes for the night against the Olympics, AMC continued to roll out new episodes of The Walking Dead and the drama managed to average a 6.6 rating, reports Deadline.

The Olympics still averaged more overall viewers with 15.21 million as compared to Walking Dead's 8.4 million. Two showings of The Walking Dead got 13.1 million, which still falls just below the Closing Ceremony.

While the numbers haven't been stellar for the Olympics, the same can't be said of AMC's drama, which continues to see strong ratings that rival major networks.
