Mike Ramsay and James Barton are offering a remedy for people who are frustrated with their current streaming internet service. The new device is called Qplay, and it is the brainchild of Mike Ramsay and James Barton. The two men launched Qplay with the hopes of bringing the best television and movies to audiences.

According to the Associated Press, CEO Mike Ramsay said, "If you look at the state of Internet video today, it's a mess. It used to be you had 500 channels on TV and nothing to watch. Now it seems like you have 500 apps on your tablet and you go from one app to the next as you search for something to watch."

The Qplay sorts and streams video clips, and stores data into different categories. According to The Verge, users can organize queues of internet content into “what’s new” or “trending” The QPlay is hoping to add Netflix and other subscription services next year.

There is tough competition in the market, and the QPlay will have to face off against Apple TV and Google Inc’s Chromecast. The Qplay comes 15 years after versatile television recorder, Tivo, pioneered by Mike Ramsay, was offered to consumers.
