San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker plans to retire after he plays with the French team in the 2016 Olympics.
According to Sports Illustrated, Parker gave an interview to NBA Greece during the All-Star weekend and said that he wants to end his basketball career after the 2016 Summer Games.
“I like the NBA game and I like the FIBA game. So for me is always a great honor to play in those competitions and I love representing my country,” Parker said. “I wanna go to the Olympics in Brazil and there is where I will retire.”
Pro-Baketball-Reference.com notes that 31-year-old was drafted in the first round of the 2001 NBA draft by San Antonio and has played for the team ever since.
If Parker does hang it up after Rio, he can look back at his career and know that he achieved greatness.
The three-time NBA Champion will no doubt be a Hall of Famer and go down as one of the greatest players in Spurs history.
