The Sochi Winter Olympics on NBC easily lay claim to Sunday night in the TV ratings, with only CBS' Grammy Salute to the Beatles's special offering any sort of competition.

The Winter Olympics romped to victory with a 6.9 rating in the advertiser important 18-49 demographic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. NBC also averaged 25.4 million viewers for the evening. The good news for the peacock network is that the numbers were nearly as strong as the first Sunday during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

CBS took some viewers away with its Grammy Salute to the Beatles, which drew a 2.1 rating in the demo and 13.95 million viewers. For the night, the network averaged a 1.7 in the demo and 11.6 million viewers. Before the Beatles special, there was a new episode of 60 Minutes, which pulled in a 1.2 rating and after the special a repeat episode of The Millers scored a 1.7 in the demo.

ABC and Fox tied in the demo for the night with a 1.0 rating, but ABC had the stronger viewing audience with 3.67 million, reports HitFix, against Fox's 2.24 million.

Both networks opted for encores for the evening, with Fox airing repeats of its Animation Domination block and ABC airing Toy Story 3.
