John Carney will be teaming up with Bono and The Edge from U2 to work on an upcoming feature film, Sing Street. Sing Street will be the telling of a a semi-biographical tale inspired by Carney's love of music.
The Hollywood Reporter added that the project was announced in Berlin. FilmNation is currently in Berlin shopping the project to foreign distributors.
The film will start production this summer in Berliln. Anthony Bregman will be producing the film along with Carney.
Sing Street will tell the story of a young boy growing up in 1980s Dublin who is intent on breaking free of his messed-up home life.
Deadline reported that members of U2 will help with the soundtrack of the film and be working on the film itself. Bono and the Edge have been friends and have worked with Carney for a long time.
No further details have been announced surrounding the project.
